Breaking the Chains of Guilt

0

Published on October 9th, 2016 | by Pastor Abel Gomez

Guilt. What brings this about? It can be a very powerful weapon to destroy and even end a life. We should not ignore this as human beings. As Christians we have a mortal enemy; someone who does not rest in their desire to destroy us.

The Apostle Paul said that we are not ignorant of the schemes of the enemy. What do you find today that closely resembles the snare of guilt? What things in life make you feel trapped in guilt? A divorce, a bad decision, a bad deed?

What these things acheive is the enemy’s objective to imprison us to wallow in sadness. We believe that this is all that God has left us.

I remember some years ago a friend separated from his wife. Initially when he remarried he was happy, because God had blessed him with a good woman. But his chains of guilt were so strong that it started to rob him of his happiness. He felt doomed every day refusing to see that the power of the blood of Jesus Christ was strong enough to break any mistake or sin. Was he missing anything? No doubt he wanted to believe that Jesus was always there to love him regardless of anything. A good preacher once said that for every time you ask for forgiveness from God that you should give thanks to Him ninety-nine times also.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, do not make the mistake of not believing in the healing power of Jesus. His blood is very powerful and our sins have already been erased. Today what we need to do is believe. We need to look forward, not backward, while remaining in His Word without hesitation. Guilt is a destructive poison that eats away to the depths of the soul. Guilt is a living hell, but you can change everything with faith. Let us remember that king David, even in his greatest sin, cried to God and was forgiven. His kingdom was the most successful of Israel.

Is there any sin that the blood of Jesus can not forgive or pay the ransom for? Get up from the grave that you have dug for yourself and get rid of it once and for all. Today is a time to be happy, living to celebrate the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made to save us. Surrender your body and soul, sanctify yourself, and start smiling again. Are you not tired of fighting against yourself? The Bible says that we know that in all things God works for good of those who love Him, who are called according to his purpose.

Surely you love God so much that when you place your offenses before Him, they can feel embarrassing to you. But that is good news brothers and sisters, because that means that the Holy Spirit is alive in you. You belong to God and He has been waiting with open arms to embrace you. Did you stop sinning? Fall short at times? Did you stop again? Then praise be to God.

The chains of guilt are not as strong as faith, because faith has the power to breaks those chains. Just like the eagle flies above the clouds, it is now time for you to fly above your guilt. Free yourself today! Jesus did not come in vain. He healed us. The book of Isaiah says that by his stripes we are healed. Hallelujah!

Do not be afraid because God is with you. Even to this day Israel has been a rebellious people and God has still been faithful to His promise and has preserved them as a nation.

Why would He not forgive you and preserve you? Maybe today is the day to recognize that you should not stop believing in forgiveness and God’s great love. Today is the day to be reborn. Enjoy what God has given you. Walk into that joyous forgiveness. Remember today that each time you ask God for forgiveness to thank Him ninety-nine times also. That is the faith that will please God. Many blessings to you and I hope that today you will continue to grow in your faith.
