Whitecross announces new album

Whitecross, one of the most legendary and respected Christian rock bands of the 80s and 90s, announced a few weeks ago that they are working on a new studio album, the first in more than 20 years, news that has excited many fans of the band and old Christian rockers.

On January 24, the four members of Whitecross met and started working at Rex Carroll's studio in Chicago, a couple of days before, drummer Michael Feighan wrote in his social networks:

I am at the Houston airport waiting to board flight to Chicago, where I'll meet Rex to track drums for new Whitecross material.  We haven't put new music out in 20 years, I wasn't sure I could do it right now after losing my wife Christie on Dec 4th, but I know she would want that, she believed in the ministry of the band and now she cheers me on from the balconies of heaven.

Last year (2022), Whitecross released a 3-song demo called Fear no Evil, which did not get much exposure, not so with the announcement of a new album which has attracted the attention of a lot of Whitecross fans on social media.

So far, they have not said more details about this new album, however, there are some interesting facts that we could comment: This will be the first Whitecross album without Scott Wenzel as singer, and the first of Dave Roberts as the new singer of the band.

Also, although bassist Benny Ramos has been with Whitecross for 22 years since 2000's Cornerstone, this will be his first full-length album with the band.

Another curious fact is that none of the four current members participated in the last Whitecross album released in 1996, Flytrap.

Personally it is exciting to know that Whitecross is going to release a new album, it is something that many fans have been asking for many years, although Scott Wenzel will not be there, it is evident that Dave has fit in very well and has been well received by the fans of the band.
