The Jesus Record Live - A Ragamuffin Benefit for Rick Elias

Published on january 19th , 2019 | PRESS RELEASE

The Jesus Record Live (February 2, 2019) is an opportunity for the friends of Rick Elias to gather, raise money for Rick's medical expenses, and hear the Jesus Record live, in its entirety.

Performing from the original recording, the concert features Rick Elias, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, The Raggamuffin Band - (Rick, Mark Robertson, Jimmy Abegg, and Aaron Smith), and others. Even the sound engineer, concert producers, graphic artist, select session players and others who contributed to the original Album are donating their time for this significant evening.

If you are not familiar with The Jesus Record, this historic album was scheduled to be the ninth release by Rich Mullins (1955 - 1997). When Rich met an untimely death, his Foundation, band, and record company determined to move forward with recording the project in Rich's honor with guest artists who were his friends. The project included two discs; Disc One - the nine rough song demos recorded by Mullins, and Disc Two - the studio version of the same songs, produced by Rick Elias which was released on July 23, 1998. Shortly thereafter, the Raggamuffin Band toured the US featuring the music from The Jesus Record on their Homeless Man Tour.

We hope you will join on February 2nd at Christ Community Church in Franklin, TN. All proceeds go to Rick's medical treatment of brain cancer. If you are unable to attend, please consider clicking here https://www.gofundme.com/rick-elias-medical-expenses to make a generous donation.
