October 31, 2018 remains a sad day for the history of the CCM. The talented composer, singer, and guitarist Kenny Marks died after falling into a coma due to a heart attack.

Kenneth Michael Marks was born on November 6, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan. His family came from Yugoslavia under the name Makrovich, but his parents changed his last name to Marks when he was born.

Growing up in Detroit, Marks studied classical piano as a child and learned to play guitar when he was 15. He had his first band while in high school and then went on to college on the east coast.

Kenny Marks' vision was to take the gospel message to different places, regardless of culture, social class, economic status, this can be seen reflected in the art of his album Absolutely Positively.

His favorite Bible verse was:
I Cor 13:12 'For now I see through a glass darkly, then face-to-face, eye-to-eye and I will see as I am seen and know as I am known. Until then, 3 things remain: Faith, Hope & Love, but the greatest of these is Love'

Those of us who have been able to enjoy his music will remember him with nostalgia.
His memory here on earth will always be a blessing.

Reactions to the death of Kenny Marks

Recalling a couple of biblical passages:

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
 2 Timothy 4, 7-8

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Philippians 1:21
