Former Tourniquet Vocalist Luke Easter, returns with a new solo project
Published on june 11th, 2018 | PRESS RELEASE |
Former longtime Tourniquet vocalist, Luke Easter, has announced the release date for his debut solo EP. The Pop Disaster, Easter’s first project since leaving Tourniquet, will be available June 15. Online pre-orders are already available.
After departing the metal outfit he had fronted for more than 20 years, Easter assembled a group of musicians from the Christian Hard Rock/Metal scene to help realize his musical vision. Featuring David Bach (Guardian) on bass, Jesse Sprinkle (Poor Old Lu, Demon Hunter, Blank Books) on drums, Josiah Prince (Disciple) on lead guitar, as well an appearance by former Stryper bassist, Timothy Gaines, The Pop Disaster is a departure from the progressive tinged thrash metal he was known for with his former band.
“At the end of the day, I’m a music fan,” Luke says. “I love well crafted, well produced, well performed songs, regardless of the style. After almost 23 years singing someone else’s songs, having to make sure everything fit someone else’s vision, it was a nice change to have the opportunity to do something that gives a glimpse of some of the other aspects of my musical identity. Metal is cool and it was great for awhile, but this is by far one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. I think it’s some of the best work I’ve done.”
Produced by Kris Kanoho (One Groove, NoMasterBacks), who also played guitar on the EP, The Pop Disaster is available on CD, as well as on all digital and streaming outlets. To find out more, visit www.lukeeaster.com
